About Me

I grew up in Bakersville, North Carolina. I have two younger brothers. My parents are glass artists, so I did not grow up in a traditional family. My parents worked close enough that in the summer we could go to the studio and play down there.

I went to the University of North Carolina at Asheville and graduated with a Batchlors of Art in May of 2009. I studied Political Science and Creative Writing. After graduation I applied for the Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship. In August of 2009 I received the scholarship and in January I applied to Nanyang Technological University the school which Rotary had approved for me.

In February and March I traveled in China. It was a wonderful experience and I look forward to my time in Singapore.
